Extensions
Tools ▸ Manage Extensions… installs engines and databases with a click. On the left are the providers, who offer them; in the middle what the chosen provider offers, to search by name and filter by kind; on the right the one you choose, with what it is, how big, where it comes from, and Install and Remove.
Installing downloads it and puts it in Pragma Chess's own folder, and an engine joins Engine ▸ Manage Engines… and Engine ▸ Switch Engine, ready to use: nothing else of your computer is touched, and no password is asked. Remove takes it away again, and if the engine was in use, the bundled one takes its place. A newer version offered by the provider shows Update. Engine ▸ Install New Engine… and Database ▸ Install New Database… open the same window on En Croissant's registry, showing only engines or only databases.
The first provider is the registry of En Croissant, another free chess program: its engines (Stockfish, RubiChess, Komodo, Dragon) are downloaded from their authors' own pages, for your system and processor. Its databases are listed but cannot be installed yet: they are in En Croissant's own format.
